The "Save a Heart" Association ran the humanitarian campaign "Life for Bogdan" between 22 July and 1 November 2014, aimed at saving Bogdan (14 years) from a terrible disease that could have brought them down at the very beginning of his life – cancer.
Thanks to the sum of over 16,000 lei (12,000 in the mother's account and 4,215 lei on the online platform – http://salveazaoinima.ro/campaigns/bogdan-lazaroi/), donated in record time by Romanians in the country but also from The Diaspora, Bogdan and his mother were able to go to the Institute of Pediatric Oncology San Matteo Pavia-Italy, and the results of the investigations were gratifying for the Lazar family: his cruel disease in remission and monthly will carry out analyses in the country.

Story

It happened on a January day, when Bogdan told his parents he wasn't feeling well.

Knowing him as a lively child, like everyone else on the border between childhood and adolescence, his parents were alarmed and took him to the hospital. The 14-year-old boy was diagnosed with stage III non-Hodgkin's malignant lymphoma and operated on at St. Mary's Emergency Clinical Hospital in Iasi. Since then, he's gone through three cytostatic cures, each of which has been swindled by his powers and leaving deep marks in his body.

Bogdan's mother, Elena Lazaroi, was with him yesterday in Iasi. "When he first got sick and we got to Iasi, we were told he was already in stage III. We pray with all our might to resist the next two cytostatic cures. Then we'll see if the disease goes into remission. Only then will we be able to hope to take him abroad for a stem cell transplant. We sell our house, just to get a good look at it," says Elena Lazaroi.

Bogdan's sister, only five years old, is waiting at home. "He knows Bogdan is sick, because since January we only stay in hospitals," the children's mother adds.

Non-Hodgkin lymphoma is a type of lymphatic cancer. In Bogdan's case, it was a tumor above the bladder that was excised. Bogdan Lazaroi needs B3 positive blood and, to help him, botosanians can donate to the Blood Transfusion Center near the dental clinic.
